The instrumental duo Knurrhahn is dedicated to the conversation of electronic sound sources with instrumental recorder sounds. Here two musicians meet who develop an improvised dialogue in which sound textures and musical gestures merge into manifestations of movement and calm. Her goal is to lead the listener* to an active listening experience between diverse figurations of silence and noise. The extraordinary timbres of the Paetzold and other recorders meet pulsating oscillators, abstract sound surfaces and noise elements from analog and digital electronic instruments. This creates complex, expressive and meditative acoustic images with an intensive effect on the recipient*.

Loibner and Weichselbaum have been working together since 2016. Since then they have played a number of concerts and are continually developing their shared musical language. Their digital release "So Far" was published in 2020 on Smallforms. Now their first (self-titled) vinyl album is released on Moozak.
